Meet the CFTS Board

The CFTS Board is composed of experienced experts from across the materials handling industry. The role of the Board is to ensure that CFTS continues to meet required standards for Thorough Examinations and that members receive the latest technical guidance and information to support them in their services.

Geoff Martin – Jofson Ltd

Geoff Martin – Jofson Ltd, CFTS Chairman

A director of Jofson Limited, the Mitsubishi dealership for the West Midlands and Manchester, Geoff has more than two decades’ experience in the materials handling industry, and is also a director of the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA).

David Goss

David Goss, UKMHA

David is an experienced senior mechanical engineer with specialist knowledge of materials handling equipment, fluid power and engineering design. Prior to his appointment as Technical Manager of BITA, David was Vice-President of The Association of Loading and Elevating Equipment Manufacturers and Technical Director of Advanced Handling Ltd.

Rob Fisher

Rob Fisher, UKMHA

Rob has long been a pivotal figure within the materials handling industry and has an enviable track record in business management. To many he will be best known for the 19 years he has spent spearheading the IMHX exhibition on behalf of Informa Markets as partners of co-owners UKMHA.

David Callis

David Callis, Ecobat Technologies

David Callis has worked in the industry since the 1980s for companies such as Chloride Motive Power and Hawker, before moving to Powercell to become Operations Director. When Ecobat Technolgies purchased Powercell, David became Special Projects Manager, and is responsible for all energy management and handling projects.

Derek Martin

Derek Martin, Champion Forklifts

Derek is an experienced lift truck specialist. After stints at esteemed companies including Montgomerie Reid, Crown Lift Trucks, Lansing Bagnall and Associated Handling, Derek went on to found Champion Materials Handling, which he continues to run as Managing Director.

Mike Knowles

Mike Knowles, Crown Lift Trucks

Mike joined Crown in 1996 as a trainee salesperson and worked his way up before being appointed as Crown UK Operations Director, overseeing all of the manufacturer’s UK customer service, parts and rental activities. Since 2016, Mike has been the Director of European Branch Operations at Crown.
